Using Shinjuku's Naito Togarashi — "Edo Sweet & Spicy Cheese Musubi" Now Available In-Store

The "Edo Sweet & Spicy Cheese Musubi," which was a huge hit at the Shinjuku Gyoen 120th Anniversary event, is now available at NIGICHA Shinjuku Gyoenmae.
Naito Togarashi connected to Shinjuku's history, "Edo Sweet Miso" crafted by Abumata Miso of Nakano, Tokyo, and cream cheese from Kiri®.
A sweet and spicy onigiri unique to NIGICHA, blending Tokyo's food traditions with the creamy richness of cheese.

■ Shinjuku's "Naito Togarashi"
Using Naito Togarashi, a pepper with deep roots in Shinjuku. Its fragrance and spice add a flavorful accent, enhancing the sweetness of the miso and the richness of the cheese.

■ "Edo Sweet Miso" from Nakano's "Abumata Miso"
Abumata Miso of Nakano, Tokyo, carries on the tradition of Edo Sweet Miso. Characterized by the harmonious balance of koji sweetness and soybean aroma — an essential ingredient that supports the flavor of our Sweet & Spicy Cheese Musubi.

■ Cream Cheese from "Kiri®"
Paired with the smooth cream cheese of Kiri®, creating a mellow and rich taste. The sweetness of Edo miso, the spice of Naito Togarashi, and the richness of cream cheese come together in every bite.

The taste of Edo, reimagined for today's onigiri.
Centered on "matcha and onigiri," we want to offer Japanese food culture in a new way — that's the spirit NIGICHA has put into this onigiri.

■ Also competing in the "Gotochi Onigiri Grand Prix 2026"
The "Edo Sweet & Spicy Cheese Musubi" is also competing in the "Gotochi Onigiri Grand Prix 2026," co-hosted by JA Zennoh and Gurunavi.

Bringing the deliciousness of local ingredients closer through onigiri.
Whether you've tried it at the event or it's your first time, we invite you to enjoy it at NIGICHA. Savor the taste of Tokyo paired with matcha or green tea.
